Our Mission
The Willye B. White Park Advisory Council works in harmony with Willye B. White Park staff to make it the athletic and cultural mecca of Rogers Park and surrounding communities. Our excellent, exciting programs enhance the quality of life for the diverse members of our community who come to Willye B. White Park to learn, play and grow together.
Hopes and Dreams
Our objective as a park advisory council is to reach out to the community for their suggestions. We surveyed parents, youth and residents for their input on programs and activities they would like to see at the park. An overwhelming majority of responses was for more cultural arts programming.
As volunteers, our task is to partner with the Park District working toward providing cultural activities in their programming whenever possible. We hope to raise funds for any cultural programs that the Park District cannot provide in their annual budget. We hope to reach out and partner with local businesses, universities, government entities such as the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, the Illinois Arts Council and other cultural organizations and foundations.
