Triangle Park

After many years, exciting new plans are in the works for Triangle Park.  The Honey festival kick off and ribbon cutting happened in early October.

Triangle Park is the first official Community Orchard planted by the Chicago Park District.  The trees have been planted and have already started to bear fruit.

We are also looking to have a mosaic mural along the back area of the park. Stay tuned for more upcoming plans, events and future workshops that you can participate in.  The Park Advisory Council is seeking partner businesses and organizations to help with these efforts and we will need lots of volunteers when it’s time for mulching the newly planted trees.  Future classes will include organic maintenance, tree keeping and pruning of the trees, as well as, how to inspect for both beneficial and harmful bugs.  With proper care, in a few years we will have apples, peaches, plums, and pears for the picking and enjoyment of all.
